Over the last few months we have been testing out the fluorescent tube replacement options with various LED Tube Replacements.
In previous years the testing of LED TUBE Replacements had not been successful in being able to match the light output of the standard 4 foot fluorescent tubes but that has now changed with the release of the 2013 updated 4 foot LED Tubes.
There are a couple of things that you will need to keep in mind if you intend to switch out your current 4 foot fluorescent tubes for the new and improved 4 foot LED Tubes.
What You Need to Know to Proceed…
1) You need to ensure that the chipset of your replacement LED Tube is based on either the Epistar or Cree chipset. Anything else will not product the light you are looking for or last the test of time.
2) All 4 foot Replacement LED Tubes will need to be within the 18 – 22watt range if you want to have a light that has near no difference to your original 4 foot fluorescent tubes.
3) Make sure that your LED Tubes selection meets with ROHS, TICK and if in Australia the AUS/NZ standards. Many of the 4 foot LED Tubes on sites like Ebay will not meet the above requirements if at all.
4) Some minor changes to your current lighting hardware will need to be made to accommodate for the new LED 4 foot Tubes.
In our last point we mentioned the changes that you will need to make to ensure that your new 4 Foot LED Tubes will work in your current Fluorescent light fittings.
These changes are very simple to make and should not cost you much if anything to have completed, but you will need a qualified electrician to make these changes for you.
